Jing Tip: Use Jing with Dropbox

| | Comments (2)

Do you use Dropbox? It's like a shared folder you can use to easily share files between your computers--or people you've authorized. The Dropbox website can explain it better!

It's easy to create a button in Jing that will send your image or video to a Dropbox folder in one click. I made a video (1:26) using Camtasia for Mac to show you how this is done.

If you want to make publicly-sharable URLs for images, you can create a folder in your Dropbox "Public" folder (I named mine "screengrabs") and save your images there. Then select "Custom Code" and for "Custom Image Code" and "Custom Video Code" enter:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/XXXXXX/screengrabs/[filename]

Where "XXXXXX" is your Dropbox user id. You can find this by using the "Get public link" feature of a file already in your Public folder tree. *Much* faster than screencast.com.
