Got a Question for You...What Do You Do with Your Jing Captures?
Jing's a tricky little application in that it's part desktop software--part Internet utility.
The better we understand how people perceive Jing and how they use it as part of their daily work, the better we can decide what to do next in Jing's development.
I have a super short, 4-question survey for you. (Don't worry, no essays!) I hope you'll spare a moment and take us up on it. This puppy really wants you to!

Good survey.
I'd be interested in what capacity most people use Jing in a future survey.
I use it mostly as part of QA for other software. The ability to take screenshots or video is indispensable in that capacity. I know there is a large contingent of educators that use it to supplement classroom discussions.
I've also used it to walk people though configuration steps or if they tell me to do X and X doesn't exist, jing is the best/easiest way to communicate the gap.
How else is it used in the wild?
First off, thanks to everyone that's filled out the survey. I've gotten 50 replies so far and some really interesting data. I can share some results in a week or so.
@Aaron: Good idea. We would love to understand how much Jing is used for non technical support-type stuff. For example, here at work we have a Jing team chat room of sorts (37 signals Campfire) and we tend to post all sorts of serious and not-so-serious stuff in there.
For example, on Monday one of the team members was held up by a train that runs by the campus of Michigan State University. This is the Jing response to the explanation of being late: http://screencast.com/t/MDA5YWYwYmM (too bad it wasn't that train?)
Do other people use Jing for fun stuff?
Please take off the time limit! I will buy today if you do. Otherwise I have to devote way too much time learning yet another video editing suite.
Nice utility with a touch of an eyecandy to the desktop! I primarily used it to discuss things that are hard to explain in words but easy to explain thru visualization. Jing is the best screencapture utility that I had found. Thanks for the free utility that is both pleasant to the eye and pleasant to use.
when i upload it to youtube i cant whatch me video what can i do !!!!!!
Hi Joe--
Do you mean your video goes from Jing to YouTube but you can never see it? Remember that YouTube will re-encode your video and it can take a while. (10 minutes usually?)
Also I noticed your link is missing the .com, could that be it?
If you have more details, let me know and we can help--or better yet, try support at http://support.techsmith.com Thanks!
Up to now I have been using ScreenShotStudio and have been happy with it up to now. I have downloaded JING for a trial...I haven't used it yet but will advise in 7 days if I intend to keep it loaded or will purchase full version.
good program.
but why the limit just 5 minutes?!
if i want 4-5 hours to record?!!!!
