What program did you use for the Jing tutorial?

Nice new feature! But I will stay on Screenpresso, my favorite screen capture tool!

i'd like to disable the delay (countdown) when starting video capture.

sftp or scp upload would also be very useful.

@ Computer News: Are you thinking it'd be enough to swap out the Jing header with one of your own? With a Screencast.com Pro account, one can go nuts customizing the view page to a great degree. I could see swapping out just the header as a middle ground.

@ Garth: The tutorial was created in Flash, and the images came from a variety of sources including Snagit. You like it?

I'm a SUPER TECHSMITH customer & Fan with lots of questions. We will achieve World Peace if you can accomplish solutions to all my questions below:

How do I update the software? Why isn't Check for updates in the preferences button?

#1 Can we get an upload link option for the direct link to the .png?

#2 Why don't my thumbnails on screencast display on FB?

#3 Can you come up with a non flash player option that is compatible to iPad, iPhone Safari?

#4 Could Jing develop a iPhone .mov upload app that upload video content out of the camera roll and converts it to .m4v on the host side. This would provide one step iTunes video podcasting solution from an iPhone?

#5 Could Jing provide video layers like a crawl overlay or a title page, credit page that could be appended to videos from the server side? I'm looking for minimal "post production" work to podcast.

#6 Could Jing offer a blurring feature on video capture to block out password or other confidential entries in screencasting?

#7 Can Jing syndicate videos out to Youtube, Viddler, Vimeo?

#8 What about an email upload function to my library? How about an API for a client to browse and upload a form to my library? How about integrating photobooth for headshots?

I like the idea of blurring, personal logo, etc. But i cannot make the connection to FB work--and I have the Pro version. The “Share” button is dimmed and does not come alive, no matter what I do.

First I thought it was because I was trying to upload a short video, tried a screen capture of an image, NADA!

So.. what do I do. May it be a bug related to the fact that I use different e-mails for FB and for Screencast? Humm!!! I don't know! I would like to know if it is working for everyone. I use an iMac, Intel based, 10.6.2 OS.

Any suggestions? I am dying to se emy first video capture in FB.

Hi Tom--I can address some of your questions:

1. You can if you have FTP. (http://help.jingproject.com/tips-tricks-and-advanced/custom-code-advanced-topic/) We do get some requests for providing that option for Screencast.com as well, but currently there's no automatic way to return the file path automatically.

2. Sometimes there is a little delay. If this is not the case in your situation, it sounds like a bug. The best place to report it is http://support.techsmith.com.

3. We'd surely love to find a solution so Jing videos could be watched on an iPhone/iPad device.

4-8: I'll log all these good ideas as feature requests.

Hello Nidia,
Your email addresses being different shouldn't matter. Here's my best guess. The Share button becomes enabled when the video or image has finished uploading to Screencast.com.

I'm guessing either you're on a very slow upload connection or maybe not online at all? Can you share to Screencast.com directly?

If you're online and can upload other things, maybe give support a chance to help get to the bottom of this? http://support.techsmith.com

I hope you can get some videos on Facebook soon too!

I am a trainer for special ed devices. Jing has allowed me to post training videos for parents and teachers. I love it! I am having one issue though. I normally need to capture my entire screen, but after a I do the capture I would like to resize the video into a 720x480 pixel format. Any suggestions can Jing resize after the video is captured, i still want all the information on the screen just smaller.

I love Jing! How do I update to the new version if I don't have administrator rights on my computer? It says I need administrator rights, but the IT guy can't enter his password when I have to be logged into Jing. Reinstall? Is Jing just going to stop working in 13 days?! Thanks!

Nice-to-have's:

1. Region/screen scrolling.

2. If it's a "Jing thing", correct the Flickr output that tags the upload with the name of an already existing image on Flickr. This doesn't happen every time, but sometimes. If it's not Jing, then Flickr needs some tweaking...

@ Anonymous: Here's an idea. Go to www.jingproject.com and download the Jing installer the manual way. Put that file somewhere your admin can get to and then install it right over your current version of Jing. That should work.

@ Jack: Thanks for the feature request and Flickr report. Next time that happens on Flickr can you capture an example of the wrong result compared to the right result?

I love every Jing update that comes across the wire - and I'm still waiting for you guys to allow me to use my pen tablet in a video capture. Really seems like something that should be available since it works so well in Camtasia and it's 2010 :)

Yes I love jing also but would really love it if it were compatable with YOU-TUBE so we could upload short videos.
