Pause/Resume Video Recording with Hotkey
When I'm making a Jing video, I like to conserve my viewer's time and my time. What do I mean?
An example is if I am uploading a file. I don't think my viewer cares to watch the 12-second progress bar. Likewise, they might not appreciate me fumbling around trying to bring up the right window or document. In cases like this I pause the recording.
To pause the video you can press the pause button, but it does take a second or two and the viewer can see your cursor trail off to find the button. A faster way is to use the pause/resume hotkey.
On Windows, press F8, to pause and resume your recording. (Make sure video hotkeys are enabled in More > Preferences.)
On Mac, the pause hotkey is the same as your capture hotkey. By default this is Command + Shift + 1. Press the hotkey again to resume your recording.

WHAT I HAVE TO DO FOR RECOR ME MY JOB. WHAT IS THE STEP, BECAUSE I DONT KNOW. I POSTED ALL MY JOB READY, BUT I WIL LIKE TO RECOR EVERTHING THAT I POSTED READY , BUT I DONT KNOW. PLEASE YOU CAN EXPLAIN TO ME HOW ARE DOING.
Hello Anorys,
I am thinking maybe you took some captures and where did they go?
Perhaps you can check out this video about the Jing History. I hope that helps, let us know!

Command + Shift + 1 = FTW.
Thank you! Any other good hotkeys to share?
Also, Jing is crashing about 5 seconds after I open it. I'm on Leopard, 10.6.1. Are there known issues? Didn't find anything in the help.
Hi Patrick,
I wish I could say there were a lot more hotkeys or accelerators, but not yet. We do get some feedback about more hotkeys and there's some interest here too.
About the crashing. That's obviously no good. Did you contact support at http://support.techsmith.com?
Jing was tested on Snow Leopard and fared well. If my memory is correct, I think we encountered a problem related to USB monitor adapters, Jing and Snow Leopard.
Here's one thing to try too: http://tinyurl.com/y92634n
Best wishes, thanks for the hotkey feedback and reporting the 10.6 crash.

i would like to see a list of enabled hotkeys for video recording. just the checkbox description "enable video hotkeys" gives me no hint about the keyS (note keys is plural!)!
@arno You have a good point. We had a tough time fitting that into the UI, so the best we have for now is a tool tip if you hover.
It's F7 for Stop and F8 for Pause/Resume.
Thanks for your feedback!
