The other day, I had this conversation with one of my coworkers:
Me: "How is it going? Oh, you're using Jing!(smile)"
Him: "Yes, I'm trying to show R. this design for a poster."
(He tries to take a capture, grabs the wrong area, and then redoes the capture.)
Me: "Neat. But why don't you just resize the capture area instead of redoing it?"
Him: "Hmm????"
Me: "Let me show you..."
So I showed him, and then I started wondering "How many Jing-Users don't know about this feature?".
And out of that came the idea to create a series of short videos that highlight a certain feature or function in Jing.
So here is the first video - on Adjusting the Capture Area - Enjoy!
More videos are in the works... keep your eyes open. Thanks.
Hi Everyone,
Did you know that you can add additional effects to your previous captures, and even send them to a different output?
All you have to do is double-click on the thumbnail in your history, and your capture re-opens for editing.
PS: You can't remove or change any previous edits. Sorry. PPS: This is not going to overwrite your previous capture, but create a new copy.
Oh, and here is a video I made to demonstrate these steps. Enjoy!
Why would you want to do that, you might ask?
Well, you could use a hotkey to capture a dropdown menu or some other time sensitive dialog. Let me show you what I mean:
Pretty neat, right? I personally find that having a hotkey makes it even easier to take quick captures with Jing.
Over the past several months, we have received a lot of requests for tweaks, enhancements. However, a core group of requests have naturally risen to the surface and while we are talking about all of them inside TechSmith, some seem to be more full of questions than answers.
So naturally, when in doubt, we ask the experts - YOU. One area in particular is the notion of editing the videos you make with Jing. When this topic comes up, lots of debate, conjecture and even fortune telling with our magic crystal Jing ball starts to happen amongst the team. With your help, we are looking to better understand what truly lies behind that very broad request - EDITING.
With your participation in a short 6 question survey, we can get a much stronger grasp of what this means from your perspective and ultimately decide if that makes sense for Jing.
