Jing Update - Coming Wednesday, October 10th

| | Comments (5)

We've been soaking in all the great feedback we've been getting in regards to The Jing Project. Thank you sooo much for all your enthusiastic feedback. Tomorrow, we are releasing an update that will improve your experience using Jing - especially around image editing, the video recording user experience and the ability to better locate media in your Jing History.

I won't spill any more details until tomorrow, but I did want to mention that once we release this tomorrow you'll be presented with this update the next time you go to use Jing. We'll definitely send out an update on the blog explaining all its new shiny chrome.

As always, we look forward to your feedback as you continue to find a home for Jing in your daily conversations.

Take Care,

Tony Dunckel

Product Manager, The Jing Project

P.S. Check out Matt's helpful post about Screencast.com and its role with the Jing Project - great info if you were ever confused about its purpose.

I quite like the moving movie-film sides that indicate that the movie is recording--simple and easy to understand. Sometimes with Camtasia, I get out of sync with the pause button, and end up not recording what I thought I was recording. The scrolling film is much more intuitive than blinking edges.

Excellent program. Ask me to update this morning which I did but after about 5 downloads and installs it still comes up telling me to download the update.
It appears it has something to do with sharing.

@Graham--That sounds like a problem with browser caching. Try clearing our your default browser cache (or if using Firefox, clearing your download list). Jing is asking your browser to download the latest version, but it still has the old version in its cache.
