Everytime I download jing. I start installer and it says version 1.2.3

Paul, the prompt to update will occur after your next capture with Jing when you select to Share it. It is at this point that Jing communicates with the server for uploading and will be able to download the update.

Jing is running nicely on Windows Xp and Mac osx

i was testing on both mac & pc. but when i send the shared address through msn, other can not receivce this address. ..

So far so good, you do need to give me the ability to change my audio source from external built in mic to line-in or some other mic source to get better sound. I'll keep at it.

How can you choose your microphone? I have one on my sound card and the Samson USB CO1U mic, and I do not see where you can change the microphone source. It is defaulting to my sound card, and I don't have a mic for that! I need to be able to choose my microphone please!

I could use this to help my Dad with his computer, but he uses 56k dialup. Will this work with dialup users?

This is great stuff. Simplest screen capture I have ever used (I have used around half a dozen by now including TS' Snagit and Camtasia).

Anyways the best feature that I would love to have is the ability to add callouts. We don't need all those countless types as in Camtasia studio, but just one type, rounded rectangle with the ability to position it and adjust the arrowhead.

I have too say that Jing is becoming a nice tool. It is becoming much like Skitch from http://plasq.com for MAC. I think it could have a zoom tool like Kuantics™ Desktop Tool developed with mdm Zinc™ like you can see here: http://www.multidmedia.com/showcase/showcase.php?id=32. I think the interface is too much funny and less functional. I like it but I think it could be some how a little more professsional and apealing, like Skitch or Kuantics tool. Best regards. The only drawback I see is the usage of screencast.com

Can't the application be sold with the ability to specify where links are stored online? In working for the government, they frown on anything being stored or linked offsite.

The decision makers would insist on using our own servers for this information.

This is a great app...it's actually going to solve a problem we have trying to capture video from our Measurement Microscope...can't wait to try it tomorrow!

Is there any chance of gettings a faster frame rate than 10FPS though?

Great program for Mac, especially the price.

The only thing I'd like to see added is the ability to alter the layer order when an item is selected, with the Command +/- keys

The image capture is great and very funcional but the control of the legend tool like text, highlight, frame and arrow are still a little bit difficult to use. I think Jing needs here a functionality to move the objects (text, frame, higlights and arrows) and re-edit them. Adding some meta to the imagens would be great and because we use it on the screen for capture images on websites and applications, I guess it could be usefull that we could add some information about where the image is captured.

I use Jing on a Apple G4 dual 500 MHz and it doesnt work well... I get one frame in 3 seconds. Why is it so slow???

Jing is lots of fun, but I would also like to know how it differs from SnagIt.
Adding callouts to videos and highlighting the cursor would be great.
Price for Jing in final form? Price for screencast.com?

I great tool for the video recording would be the ability to add a callout, highlighting, or zoom during the playback (along with pauses). Maybe that's getting beyond what this is intended for? Is there another program that does exactly that?

Jing's intention is quick, casual and simple content creation and dead simple sharing. We want to remove all the technical and process barriers of doing this so that we can help democratize visual communication. We feel adding lots of editing features gets in the way of that single goal.
