Jing on Flickr and more...
Posted on Friday July 27, 2007 by Betsy Weber
I'm seeing some neat uses of Jing lately!
I heard from Len Charnoff from the Digital College blog. He used a Jing video in a Flickr group he belongs too!
Len is a member of the Feathery Friday group on Flickr. Each Friday a new topic is announced. So, Len posted his picture of his bird and supplemented it with a Jing video! The Jing video gives you so much more information about his bird than the single picture did. You can see his post in Flickr here. Or click the screenshot below to watch his Jing video.
I also found a blog entry from Microsoft OneNote and PowerPoint MVP, Kathy Jacobs. She has a contest going on and if you Jing her to answer her questions, you could win a copy of SnagIt and Camtaisa Studio! You can read about the contest here.
How are you using Jing? Jing me!

I downloaded JING out of curiosity. I have NO clue as to how to use it. You need to write out a very simple set of instructions with step-by-step and send it to us or post it. I am very computer proficient but this one is a mystery to me!

Hi Jim! I'm a new user as well! Check out some of the other posts on this blog, especially http://blog.jingproject.com/2007/07/how_do_i_use_this_thing_called.html
One of the things I love about Jing so far is how easy it is to use! It's really not much more complicated than Click, Capture, Share. (Oooo marketing...)
Oh, FWIW, I'm not affiliated with Jing or Techsmith, though I've been a Camtasia and Snagit user for sometime now.

I am using Jing to capture quick screen shots that will allow me to then put a URL easily into an IM message. I also have used the movie option and then use the powerpoint plug-in to embed a Flash object. Jing is easy and faster than SnagIt or Camtasia when you only have something quick and short you want to do. I would love to see an integration of the SnagIt editor options into Jing or maybe an SangIt output option (for Jing Screencast) in addition to Flickr. I often don't want to put a bunch of screenshots into my Flickr account, so having the output option to Screencast.com instead is a better alternative for me. Now if we could just get the best of both (SnagIt editing and Screencast/Jing output) Yea!
